Diagnosing a problem or taking readings where

Use electrical rated insulated gloves & mat to
stand on while doing the testing, use safety glasses
while doing the operation.
Do not work on electrical circuits greater than 600
volts unless you have received specific training and
authorized by your supervisor.
Suspend work or have a shelter during adverse
weather conditions or we can say when the
weather is humid, rainy etc.
After diagnostic work is complete and if service
work is required you must disconnect all sources of
power and apply LO/TO procedure.
Tools, Equipment & PPE when working with

electricity
Use always safety glasses, safety insulated gloves
and safety shoes while connecting/disconnecting
electric switches on electric panels, diagnosing
problems or taking readings.
Leather gloves should be worn over Insulated
gloves for Utility VCB operation while only insulated
gloves while doing LT changeover.
Always verify that the door of electric panels is well
close before connecting/disconnecting electric
switches.
Ensure that electrical equipment you are working
on is grounded.
Use always Electronic Ground Fault Circuit
Interrupters (GFCI) rated at 10mA with all electric
portable tools. Test the GFCI before use.
Inspect power tools, insulated hand tools and
electrical cords. Damaged ones shall not be used.
Always use non-conductive tools & equipment e.g.
fiberglass ladders, insulated hand tools and mat.

Ensure employees working with electricity
must be trained and authorized electrician

Ensure compliance of PPE required for
electrical work during working and has to be
inspected before use
