11.2.2 CLOGGED FILTERS
Air filter prevent dust or other foreign particles to enter inside the unit and thus helps to avoid frequent
dust contamination inside and to provide effective cooling. In case of blockage of filter or dirty filter,
working efficiency would reduce a lot, so cleaning filter is most important to maintain the efficiency of
this product. Cleaning of air filter in Indoor unit is to be done once a fortnight or after 15 days of use for
normal working environment.
A clean filter guarantees maximum cooling, uninterrupted operation, eliminates frost building up on
evaporator coil, prevents circuit breakers tripping and increases life of IDU fan motor.
11.2.2.1 HOW TO CLEAN CLOGGED FILTERS?
Turn OFF main power supply.
Take out filter. Put filter on the floor to remove dust and then wash filter by water, better to keep it
under the tap because water with pressure will clean the filter in a précised way.
Dry the filter. Refit the filter.
11.2.2.2 PAY ATTENTION TO NOISE:
Unit must be installed at a selected location with sufficient strength to withstand unit's weight. If any
abnormal noise or vibrations is observed during operation, Call Carrier service helpline to recheck the
location and mounting.
11.2.2.3 AVOID POLLUTED OR CORROSIVE ENVIRONMENT:
• Where there is much salt in air (near Coastal area).
• Where there is exposure of Sulphur gases or other harmful chemicals.
Turn OFF main power supply before troubleshooting / maintenance / servicing / installation.
11.2.3 FAN MOTOR MAINTENANCE (OUTDOOR UNIT)
Fan motor replacement:
1. Turn off unit power supply.
2. Unscrew and remove fan grills.
3. Loosen grub screw with Allen key on fan shaft, remove motor mounting bracket bolts and
remove bracket and motor assembly.
4. Remove / replace motor from bracket by loosening bolts. Reassemble the unit.
11.2.4 BLOWER / BLOWER MOTOR MAINTENANCE (INDOOR UNIT)
For Blower & motor replacement:
1. Turn off unit power supply.
2. Unscrew and remove base pan.
3. Remove double canvas duct connection, unscrew the respective blower housing from
and top panel and Take it down from unit.
4. Loosen blower on motor shaft, unbolt motor mounting bracket from blower housing, replace motor
or blower or complete housing assembly. and reassemble with the unit.
