CUTTING BLADE

CS
A
CAUTION!
Protect hands by using heavy gloves or a rag to grasp the cutting blades.
Tip mower with the spark plug up (the handle down). Remove the hex bolt and washer which
hold the blade and blade adapter to the engine crankshaft. Remove the blade and adapter from
SK
the crankshaft (fig. 20). Bolt has a typical right-hand thread.
A
CAUTION!
Periodically inspect the blade adapter for cracks, especially if you strike a foreign
object. Replace when necessary and check the machine overall.
PL
For best results your blade should be sharp. The blade may be resharpened by removing
it and either grinding or filing the cutting edge keeping as close to the original bevel as
possible. It is extremely important that each cutting edge receives an equal amount of
grinding to prevent an unbalanced blade. Improper blade balance will result in excessive
vibration causing eventual damage to the engine. The blade can be tested for balance
HU
for example by balancing it on a round shaft screwdriver (fig. 21). Remove metal from
the heavy side by grinding until it balances evenly.
Before reassembling the blade and the blade adapter to the mower, lubricate the engine
crankshaft and the inner surface of the blade adapter with light oil.
Place the blade with the part number facing away from the adapter. Align the washer over
the blade and insert the hex bolt. Tighten the hex bolt to the torque listed in the Specifications.
C When you change the blade, must use the original blade (for order the blade, please
contact your local dealer or call our company).

SELF-PROPELLED SYSTEM V-BELT

(only for self-propelled mowers)
The self-propelled system V-belt is located in the working area of the mower under the cover
above the blade. If the belt pulleys are clogged or the space inside of the cover is choked with
grass residues and other dirt, the V-belt may slide down, the cover get damaged, the self-
propelled system fail, etc. Regularly visually inspect that the cover fits tightly and that dirt and
