3.1.3 PREPARATION FOR FERTILISERS
1) Assemble the fertiliser distributor with the flexible tubes and
with the central tubing at the centre of the precision planting
unit if possible.
2) Connect the flexible tubes from the distributor to the
fertilisation parts using the special hose-clips.
3) The machine in the correct operating position, check the
length of the seed descent pipes: while the seeder is
operating, it is important to avoid folds and bends in the
pipes which can lead to their breaking. Adapt them, if
necessary, by varying the length as shown in figure 10.
3.1.4 PREPARATION FOR PLANTING
1) The rear planter shoe carrying cutting-arm (planting unit) is
fixed permanently to the machine for earth working.
SEEDER POSITION
It is important that the seeder be correctly positioned on the
equipment which bears it.
Positioning the seeder on the equipment is an extremely
dangerous phase. Proceed with extreme caution and
carry out the operation scrupulously adhering to the
instructions provided.
2) After having set the machine for the desired working
conditions (earth-working depth, wear of the teeth, etc.),
it will be necessary to position the seeding cutting-arm at a
height from the ground of 45 – 50 cm (Fig. 11), by regulating
the lower end-travel stop by means of the chain tighteners
(1 Fig. 11).
ATTENTION
If the operating position of the equipment needs to be
changed, re-position the seeder by proceeding as
described earlier in point 2).
3) Ensure that the seeding elements have an wide enough
range by adjusting their limit stop crews.
4) Adjust the height of the tractor lifting arms:
a) in the operating position, ensure that the seeder is firmly
resting on the ground, so that the only motive force is
coming from the tractor;
b) in the transporting position, adjust the arms so that the
seeder does not, for any reason whatsoever, come into
contact with the ground.
5) Check the length of the seed descent pipes: while the seeder
is operating, it is important to avoid folds and bends in the
pipes which can lead to their breaking. Adapt them, if
necessary, by varying the length as shown in figure 10.
3.1.5 CENTRAL CONNECTION
The manufacturer provides a 100 mm diameter rigid tube for
fitting to the tractor. Connect both ends of the rigid tube to
the machinery mounted back and front with the 100 mm di-
ameter flexible tube. Avoid creases and folds that could lead
to breakage.
3.2 DISTRIBUTION

3.2.1 SEED DISTRIBUTOR

The doser (fig.12) the most important part for seeder operation,
is located underneath the seed hopper.
transmitted to it by the drive wheel through gears (with ratios
proportional to the width of the work to be carried out) and
chains. The transmission can be fitted with one of two gear
ratios (Fig. 13), according to the seed distribution requirements.
