4.2.7 Overheating protection
A built-in temperature sensor measures the temperature in the induction hob. If an excessive temperature
is detected, the induction hob automatically stops working.
4.2.8 Small object detection
If an improperly sized dish with a non-magnetic bottom (such as aluminium) is detected, or if a smaller
object (such as a knife, fork or key) is left on the hob, it automatically switches to standby mode for 1
minute. The fan cools the induction hob for another 1 minute.
4.2.9 Automatic shutdown
Automatic shutdown is a safety protection function for the induction hob. If you forget to switch off the
appliance after cooking, the appliance switches off automatically. The default shutdown times for the
various power levels are shown in the table below:
Power level
Standard timer for cooking
time (hours)
When the dish is removed from the hotplate, the induction hob will stop generating heat and will
automatically switch off after 2 minutes.
4.2.10 Using the timer
You can use the timer in two different ways:
- It can be used as a minute timer. In this case, the timer will not switch off any cooking zone after the
set time has elapsed.
- It can be used as an off timer to switch off one or more cooking zones when the time runs out.
NOTE: You can set the timer for up to 99 minutes.
You can use the timer even if you do not select a hotplate.
