4.1.4 Energy savings
Follow these practical tips to save energy in your cooking activities.
WARNING: When preparing dishes with a long cooking time in a pressure cooker, make
sure there is always enough liquid in the pot: leaving an empty pot to boil could damage
both the hotplate and the pot itself.
NOTE: Place the dishes on the hotplate before switching it on.
NOTE: Place the dishes in the centre of the hotplate.
NOTE: Use residual heat to keep food warm. Cook a new dish on a hotplate that has just
been used to take advantage of its residual heat.
NOTE: When heating water, only use the necessary amount.
NOTE: Always cover the pot or pan with an appropriately sized lid.
NOTE: Use a dish size suitable for the amount of food to be prepared. If you use an
excessively large pot for a small amount of food, you will unnecessarily consume
considerably more energy.
