● Can I listen to and create sounds on the Editor Suite without using the pedal?
In order to hear FI program sounds via the Editor Suite you must have the pedal
connected to your computer. The sound is produced by the pedal; the Editor Suite
just tells the pedal what settings to use. (Whilst it is technically possible to create
programs on the Editor and save them to your PC without having the pedal attached,
there would be little point as you would be unable to hear how they sound!)
● How do I restore the factory patches to my pedal?
There are a few ways to do this. One easy way is to use the online firmware updater
tool and reflash your firmware. At the end of the firmware update process, you get
the option to load the factory soundset onto the pedal. To do this, use a Chrome
browser, go to
https://auraplug.com/fiupdate/start.html
instructions.
A second way is via the Manager feature of the Editor Suite. Connect your FI to your
computer using a compatible MIDI interface from the
instructions shown in the
of this manual. Launch the
Commands click SELECT DIRECTORY and select GLOBAL. Log in using your
username and password for the
on the left, double-click the "Bank" folder, then the "v3.5 Factory Default Sounds".
From the File Commands, click SELECT ALL then click SEND TO BANK. Now from
the Bank Commands in the upper-central portion of the screen, click UPLOAD TO FI.
The soundset will now write to your pedal.
A third way is also via the Editor. Connect your FI to your computer using the details
in the links of the above paragraph. Go to
download the factory patches. Once these are on your computer, unzip the folder.
Then in the Menu Bar of the Editor Suite, go to the File menu, click Select Directory
and locate the downloaded folder "v35_sounds". Click the WRITE ALL button in
Program Display at the top left corner of the Editor window to write the factory default
programs back to your pedal.
● How do I update my pedal's firmware?
You should always make sure the latest firmware version is installed on your FI.
Check the number shown in your pedal's display when powering on. If 3.60 is shown,
then you don't need to do anything further. If a number lower than 3.60 is shown then
you will need to update the firmware.
You can update any FI unit's firmware to the latest version directly in your web
browser (Chrome only) by going to
following the on-screen instructions.
Important: If you are upgrading to v3.60 from a pre-v3 version then you must allow
the online updater to write the factory soundset to the pedal after the firmware update
has been installed; all pre-v3 program data must be flushed from the pedal otherwise
