Installing or Replacing Network Interface Boards in the
GR2000-1B, GR2000-2B, and GR2000-2B+
The only plug-replaceable boards in the GR2000-1B, GR2000-2B, and GR2000-2B+
are network interface boards. If you need to install an additional network interface
board (NIF), first remove the two screws attaching the dummy panel to the front
panel of the router.

Note: Store the dummy panel safely, so that it doesn't get bent or lost. If a slot is not

being used, keep the dummy panel in place until you install an additional NIF.

Removing a Network Interface Board

Step 1.
Loosen the screw of the network interface board.
Step 2.
Hold both screws with your fingers and pull the network interface board
towards you as shown in Figure 5-1 below.

Always power OFF the GR2000-B when you install or replace a network
interface board, or any other system component, such as a memory card.
To prevent static discharge, do not touch the components or soldered
surfaces of a network interface board. Similarly, always keep network
interface boards in their special anti-static bags when not in use.
Be careful how you handle the NIFs. Since they are static sensitive, handle
NIFs only by the board edges. When you store NIFs, place them in anti-static
packaging and protect them from physical damage.
