Leave the hard drive cartridges whose HDD LEDs blink amber in the unit.

When "RAID-6 TWO DRIVE DOWN" is displayed, replace the defective drive, referring to the ""TWO DRIVE
DOWN" Is Displayed on the LCD Panel" section above.

If "SYSTEM DOWN" is still displayed, go to the next step to replace the defective hard drive and format the new
drive.

Remove another defective hard drive cartridge whose HDD LED blinks amber from the unit.

Insert new hard drive cartridges into all empty slots on the unit and replace the screw.

Turn the unit off first, then turn it on while holding down the mode button.

"RAID-6 NORMAL" will be displayed on the LCD panel.

If "SYSTEM DOWN" is still displayed, try the procedure in this section again, starting from the first step. If either
"RAID-6 ONE DRIVE DOWN" or "RAID-6 TWO DRIVE DOWN" is displayed, try the procedure described in the
""ONE DRIVE DOWN" Is Displayed on the LCD Panel" or ""TWO DRIVE DOWN" Is Displayed on the LCD Panel"
section above.

Return the cover and replace the two screws.

Configure the port for connecting the computer and the unit, referring to the "Connecting the Unit" section in
chapter 2.

Format the drive referring to the "Formatting with NTFS (Windows)" or "Formatting with HFS Plus (Mac)"
section in chapter 7.
Drive replacement is finished.
For RAID 5:

Shut down the computer.

Confirm if the HDD LED is glowing in front. The LED for the failed hard drive number glows or blinks amber.

Remove the two screws on the right-side cover (on the right from the front) and remove the right-side cover.

Remove the defective hard drive cartridge whose HDD LED glows amber from the unit.
Leave the hard drive cartridges whose HDD LEDs blink amber in the unit.

Turn off the unit.
