channel unit for the precutover (inactive) state.
7. Measure the voltage across ring to ground. Attach RED (+) lead to
ground and BLACK (–) meter lead to ring.
8. Is result less than 2 volts?
If YES, then continue with Step 9.
If NO, then proceed to Step 11.
9. Condition the VOM to measure resistance. Measure resistance
across tip to ground and ring to ground.
10. Are both results greater than 200 kohms?
If YES, then proceed to Step 13.
If NO, then continue with Step 11.
11. At RT, check the connection to the channel unit. Correct wiring
trouble, if any, and verify the correct channel unit slot number and
circuit are used.
12. Verify that the correct circuit and SLC -2000 system have been
entered into the switch data base and that the circuit has been
provisioned for the precutover (inactive) state.
Repeat from Step 7.
13. With SPQ 450 CU operating properly, verify that the switch person
is ready for the ALIC5 circuit to be bridged to the working circuit
(in other words, verify that the switch will not activate the channel
unit until the RT craftsperson verifies that the circuit is idle).
