10. Is the circuit pack being replaced LIU-8?
If YES, then continue with Step 11.
If NO, go to Step 13.
11. At the UIP, execute the RETRIEVE-FAULTS command to see if there are any
ls-a-x on protection messages. Is LIU-8 currently protecting another LIU?
If YES, then the condition requiring the protection needs to be cleared
If NO, continue with Step 12.
12. Replace the circuit pack. Wait for the pack to install and initialize and the
associated faults to clear. If new faults appear, return to TAP-101 and clear the
new faults.
STOP. YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS PROCEDURE.
13. At the UIP, execute the RETRIEVE-FAULTS command and look for an ls-a-x
on protection message for the pack to be replaced. Is LIU-8 protecting the
LIU being replaced?
If YES, then continue with Step 14.
If NO, go to Step 15.
14. Replace the circuit pack. Wait for the pack to install and initialize and the
associated faults to clear. If new faults appear, return to TAP-101 and clear the
new faults.
STOP. YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS PROCEDURE.
so that LIU-8 can be safely replaced. Otherwise, service
disruption could occur. Return to TAP-101 and clear the
condition.
