35. Have you established both optical spans connected to the
SLC -2000 RT (the span for the other adjacent SONET terminal)?
If NO, then continue with Step 36.
If YES, then proceed to Step 37.
36. Choose the other optical span to be established and
return to Step 22.
37. Using the CIT, enter rtrv-sync to ensure that all SONET nodes
in a ring configuration are connected before services are
established and all LineTimed SONET ring nodes are using the
default synchronization (source=main-1, modeswitch=revertive).
38. Are SONET nodes correctly set?
If NO, then continue with Step 39.
If YES, then proceed to Step 40.
39. Set the nodes using the set-sync commands.
NOTE:
Use document 363-208-003, SLC-2000 Access System,
Commands and Messages , for the correct command format.
40. Install STS-1 or VT1.5 cross-connections per work order.
NOTE:
DLP-520 provides cross-connect philosophies for ring
applications.
41. (See Caution.) At the RT, test the power minor alarm by turning
AC circuit breaker(s) off. It may take 5 minutes (or longer) for the
Power Minor alarm to activate.
Response: The Power Minor and NE Activity LEDs light. The
central office DDM-2000 reports a power minor (or
major if provisioned for major) RT alarm.

CAUTION:
This step should only be performed if the RT is equipped
with backup battery. Turning off AC power will interrupt
service if battery backup is not available.
