If ESP
is malfunctioning, ESP

can, within physical limits, monitor and
improve driving stability and traction in the fol‐
lowing situations:
when driving and pulling away on wet or slip‐

to pull away and accelerate on a slippery carria‐
geway.
If the vehicle is deviating from the direction
desired by the driver, ESP
