126 Climate control
Setting the airflow
Requirements
The climate control system is switched on.
R
To increase or decrease: press the top or
#
bottom section of the H rocker switch.
Vehicles with rear climate control: press the Y
button first to set the airflow for the rear com‐
partment via the front control panel.
Setting the temperature
Requirements
The climate control system is switched on.
R
To increase or decrease: press the top or
#
bottom section of the w rocker switch.
Vehicles with rear climate control: press the Y
button first to set the temperature for the rear
compartment via the front control panel.
Switching the synchronisation function
on/off
Requirements
The climate control system has been
R
switched on (
page 124).

The temperature can be set centrally using the
synchronisation function. The temperature set‐
ting for the driver's side will then be adopted for
the front passenger side and, in vehicles with rear
climate control, the rear compartment as well.
Switch the "Synchronisation" function on and
#
off via the air conditioning menu of the multi‐
media system.
The synchronisation function will be switched off
if the settings for the front passenger side or rear
compartment are changed.
Demisting the windscreen
You can use this function to defrost and demist
the windscreen and the front side windows from
the inside. Switch off the "Demist windscreen"
function as soon as the windscreen is clear.

Vehicles with THERMOTRONIC: if the vehicle
detects mist on the windows, the function
will automatically be switched on.
Switch on climate control (

page 124).

To switch on/off: push the top or bottom
#
section of the ¬ rocker switch on the front
control panel.
If the indicator lamp above the ¬ rocker
switch lights up, the function has been
switched on. The current air-conditioning set‐
tings will be deactivated.
The temperature, airflow and air distribution
will be regulated automatically to optimise
the demisting effect. Air-recirculation mode
will be deactivated.
When you enable automatic mode, the "Demist
windscreen" function will switch off automati‐
cally.
When you switch off the "Demist windscreen"
function, the previous settings for automatic cli‐
mate control will be applied again.
Note the following exceptions:
Air-recirculation mode will remain switched
R
off.
If the A/C function has been automatically
R
activated, it will remain active.
Switching air-recirculation mode on/off
When air-recirculation mode is switched on, the
windows may mist up more quickly. Switch on air-
recirculation mode only briefly.
Press the top or bottom section of the g
#
rocker switch.
When the indicator lamp above the g
rocker switch lights up, air-recirculation mode
is switched on.
Air-recirculation mode will automatically switch
on in the following cases:
in high outside temperatures
R
while the vehicle is driving through a tunnel
R
(vehicles with THERMOTRONIC automatic cli‐
mate control and navigation only)
After approximately 30 minutes, outside air will
automatically be introduced again.
