Configuring the Number of Allowed Sources and Replication Streams

The default number of replication streams used by a source system and
a target system is 8. The default number of allowed sources replicating
to a target is 10 sources. If you want to increase the number of allowed
sources for a Target, you must decrease the number of replication
streams on the Source system (see
Note: Replication performance is directly affected by the number of
replication streams. If you decrease the configured number of
streams on the source DXi, replication performance is
decreased by a proportional amount. For example, configuring
the source DXi with half the default number of streams (that is,
4 streams) would result in approximately half the default
replication performance.

Caution: If the maximum number of allowed sources is increased on
the target without a corresponding decrease in the number
of replication streams used by the sources, replications and
other operations will begin to fail because the maximum
number of blockpool connections will be exceeded.
