Rack Mounting
the Contivity can be mounted into a rack or placed on a desktop. This chapter
describes the method you can use to mount your Switch into a chassis rack and
also shows how to mount rubber feet, should you prefer desktop operation.
Nortel Networks recommends the following standard rack-mounting
considerations:

The maximum recommended ambient temperature is 40 degrees Celsius.
Make sure the internal temperature of the rack also does not exceed 40
degrees Celsius.
Do not block the power supply vents or otherwise restrict air flow when
installing the Contivity into a rack.
Stabilize your rack properly so that it does not tip over under the weight of the
Contivity and other devices.
Make sure that the electrical branch circuits are capable of handling the
Contivity and other units in the rack before installing and turning on the
Contivity.
Maintain a reliable Earthing path in the rack system. the Contivity is intended
to connect to an Earth ground.
