Battery

To Insert the Battery

If a battery is already in place, ensure your phone is switched off before you attempt to insert the new battery.

Open the battery cover. (see the diagram on page 6).

Ensure that the battery's label is facing upwards when fitting the battery. Place the top of the battery into position and
then push the lower section of the battery into place.

Close the battery cover.
You can charge the battery whenever you wish without affecting the performance of the phone.
Your e228 automatically switches off if the battery voltage is too low.
Batteries have a life cycle. If you find that the amount of times you have to charge the battery is increasing dramatically,
the battery life may be coming to an end. Use only the NEC original or approved batteries. Unapproved batteries can
impair the performance of the phone and invalidate the warranty.
When the battery is not being used for a long period of time, remove it from your e228 and store in a cool, dry place.
A battery that has not been used for a long period of time needs to be completely discharged and then recharged two or
three times before reaching full capacity.
Charging

To Charge the Battery Using the Charger

Insert the battery into the phone (see To Insert the Battery section above).

Connect the charger plug to your e228 I/O connector (see the diagram on the next page).

Plug the charger into a mains socket. The LED indicator on your e228 lights up while charging is in progress and goes
off when charging is completed.

After charging is completed, unplug the charger from the I/O connector.
