Configuring I/O
After the Configure I/O (F3) key is pressed, a chart, Figure 5-3, appears for
entry of I/O module configurations. The values shown in the table will be for
the current I/O configuration and will be obtained from the P/C (if Online)
or from the Program Disk (if Offline).

Be careful when assigning the addresses for the slots in a base. It is possible to
assign one address to two slots, which could cause the module placed in the
slot or the P/C to perform unpredictably.
Note that you can only create or change the I/O Module Definition chart.
You cannot create or change the I/O Configuration chart, which is displayed
when the SHOW (F2) function key is pressed. This chart is built by the
system from the information supplied in the I/O Module Definition chart
and the Synonym charts (which are described in Section 8.9).
The first step in creating an I/O Module Definition chart is to press the
CONFIO function key in either the Online Menu or the Offline Menu.
(Remember that the mode of operation affects what you will be able to do.
Please see the preceding paragraphs for what is allowed in each mode of
operation.)
