Error Messages
The following is a list of VPU error messages and warnings that may
appear. A description of what may have caused the error and what can be
done to correct it is given after the message.
The VPU200 has lost communications with the sequencer. Check the cable
running from the VPU to the sequencer or the remote base for proper
connection.
This message occurs if the operating system cannot find information on the
user disk. This is caused by not initializing your disk before trying to write
information to it not having a disk in the drive. or by opening the drive door.
See ERROR READING FROM DISK for more information.
Error writing occurs if the disk is write-protected and an attempt is made to
write to the disk. Error reading occurs on the first attempt at a disk read or
write after the disk door has been opened and the original disk reinserted or
the disk swapped. Retrying the operation will clear the error and proceed
with the requested function. If the error does not clear after a few retrys,
the disk is probably damaged. Try to copy the data to a new disk or use your
backup disk.
The maximum number of I/O points per base is exceeded with the current
configuration. Reduce the number of points or distribute them over more
than one base.
An attempt was made to load or save data to a destination P/C or disk
which has a smaller memory size than the source P/C or disk. For example,
trying to save 32K of L-memory to a disk with 16K of L-memory configured
would give this error. Use the Configure Memory function to make the
memory sizes equal or use a Save/Load All which will make the memory
size of the destination device equal to that of the source device.
The VPU cannot write the requested memory configuration to the P/C
because the P/C does not contain enough memory. This error will occur if an
attempt is made to write S-memory to a 560 controller with no 565
controller present.
This occurs if a location was written using a large memory configuration,
and the memory size was then reduced. For example. having V10000 in a
timer and then reducing the memory size to 4K would cause the
out-of-range error. Either increase the memory size, or change the
out-of-bounds designation to one within the new memory size.
