Preparation of slides
NOTICE
Use only barcode type and sizes supported by the scanner.
2D Data Matrix barcodes are recommended as this barcode type is more safe and reliable
than 1D types due to ECC200 error correction/detection, see chapter "Barcodes" on page 100
for more information.
NOTICE
Use only machine readable barcodes with a minimum barcode symbol quality grade C.
Grade C is the minimum required barcode symbol quality to be reliably decoded to prevent
skipped slides, unidentified slides or mixing up of patient data, see chapter "Barcodes" on
page 100 for more information
NOTICE
Make sure that there is a human readable case ID on the label of each slide. The researcher
needs the human readable case ID to check that the IMS has added the digital image to the
proper case.

► Add a slide label with a barcode to identify the glass slide.
► Add a human readable case ID on the label in addition to the barcode.
► Check the items listed in the table to make sure that the barcode is readable for the
scanner.
