Preparation of slides
• Keep a minimum of 15% of the slide surface empty (no tissue), as the scanner requires this
as a reference in order to correctly detect the tissue.
• Place the tissue flat and make sure that it is without folds.

• When preparing multiple slides from one tissue sample, place tissue the same way on each
slide. Avoid horizontal or vertical flipping to enable automatic alignment of the digital
images.

Placing the cover slip
• Avoid the use of extra large, small or square cover slips.
• Keep at least 2 mm between the cover slip and the label or slide brand text.
• Keep 3 mm between the cover slip and the edge of the slide opposite of the label.
• Cover slip may not protrude from slide edges.
• Avoid air bubbles.
• Place cover slip only over the area that is to be scanned. Areas outside the cover slip area
might be skipped.
• Make sure that there is no mounting media outside the cover slip.
