OPERATION
n

Frequency indication

Push [FC] to display the channel name or channel
frequency.
D Transmit frequency indication
Push [TXF] to display the transmit frequency instead
of the channel name or operating frequency.
When the transmit frequency is displayed, "
blinks.
n

Lock function

The lock function electronically locks the Channel
Selector to prevent accidentally changing channels.
Push [LOCK] to turn the Lock function ON or OFF.
Before selecting a channel, turn OFF this function.
n

Scan function

The Scan function repeatedly scans programmed
channels. This function is convenient to wait for calls
on multiple channels.

q Set [RF/SQL] control to the center (12 o'clock) po-
sition (opening squelch), then rotate the control
clockwise to the position where the noise just dis-
appears.

Appears when the Lock function is ON.
w Hold down [UP p] or [q DN] for 1 second to start
a Channel scan.
• The "SCAN" icon appears.
e When a signal is received, the scan pauses on
that channel.
r Push [UP p] or [q DN] to cancel the scan.
NOTE: The scan resume operation (the action
after receiving a signal) can be set to "scan re-
sume" or "scan cancel" in the Initial Set mode
(p.
30).
