Resuming playback

The unit can re m e m ber the position on a disc w here you interrupt playback, and resu m e playback fro m that position later.
You can set tw o resu m e m odes (DISC RES U M E and O N) using the preference display. See page 53 for details about ho w
to set the resu m e m ode.
• The resu m e m ode is initially set to " O N " w hen you purchased.
• You can deactivate the resu m e m ode by setting "RES U M E" on the " OTHERS " preference display to " O FF."

To memorize the interrupt position

¶ During playback
When the resume mode is set to "DISC RESUME"
Press 7
.
The unit stops playback and m e m orizes the interrupt position. After pressing 7 , the display windo w on the front
panel sho ws "RES U M E STOP."
In this condition, the m e m ory of the interrupt position is not cleared if you press 0 to open the disc tray, or press
STA N DBY/O N (on the front panel) or DVD STA N DBY/O N
• The interrupt position is also re m e m bered w hen you press
the re m ote control unit). In this case, "RES U M E STOP" is not sho w n on the display windo w.
• To clear the m e m ory, press 7 w hile the disc stopped.
• The unit re m e m bers interrupt positions for the last 30 discs played.
• If you interrupt the playback of a disc for w hich an interrupt position has already been stored, the m e m ory will be updated with the
ne w interrupt position.
• After the unit has stored interrupt positions for 30 discs, storing a ne w interrupt position will cause the unit to delete the oldest
stored position. Interrupting playback of a disc for w hich an interrupt position is already stored m ay change the order in w hich the
positions are stored. This m ay potentially change the order in w hich positions are deleted.
When the resume mode is set to "ON"
Press 7

The unit stops playback and m e m orizes the interrupt position.
In this condition, the m e m ory of the interrupt position is not cleared if you press STA N DBY/O N

N ote that if you press 0 to open the disc tray, the m e m ory of the interrupt position is cleared.
