Basic operations

To locate the beginning of the scene or song

You can locate the desired title or chapter (for DVD VIDE O), or track (for A udio CD/Video CD/SVCD) fro m w hich the unit
starts playback.

To locate a desired selection using 4 or ¢
¶ For DVD VIDE O:
For A udio CD:
For Video CD/SVCD:
Press 4 or ¢.
With an A udio CD, Video CD or SVCD, pressing the button skips a track. With a DVD VIDE O disc, pressing the button
skips a chapter or title depending on the disc configuration.
The selection nu m ber appears in the display windo w on the front panel.
• To skip forward titles/chapters/tracks, press ¢ as m any tim es as required.
• To skip to the beginning of the current track/title/chapter, press 4 once.
• To skip back titles/chapters/tracks, press 4 as m any tim es as required.
NOTES
• This function may not work with some DVD VIDEO discs.
• This function does not work during Video CD/SVCD playback with PBC function (see pages 5 and 23).

To locate a desired selection using the numeric buttons

For Video CD/SVCD:
Use the numeric buttons to specify the number.
Depending on the disc type and the unit status, w hat is specified differs.

* If a disc contains m ore than one title, a title is specified. If a disc contains only one title, a chapter is specified.
• To select a nu m ber betw een 1 and 10: Press the corresponding button for the nu m ber.
• To select a nu m ber higher than 10:

To select 13: +10 → 3
+10 → +10 → +10 → 4
To select 34:
To select 40: +10 → +10 → +10 → 10
The unit starts playback fro m the beginning of the selection. The selected title, chapter or track nu m ber appears in
the display windo w on the front panel.
