AV COMPU LINK remote control system

The JVC AV C O MPU LIN K syste m allo ws you to enjoy video or audio with the sim plest
operation.If your video/audio player (such as a DVD player, CD player and VCR) and
television or/and a m plifier/receiver support the JVC AV C O MPU LIN K syste m and are tied
with the JVC AV C O MPU LIN K cable(s), sim ply starting the player will auto m atically m ake
all necessary settings on the television and/or a m plifier/receiver to allo w you to enjoy the
playback.

Connection and setup

Using an AV C O MPU LIN K cable, connect the AV C O MPU
LIN K terminals of each co m ponent to one another.
• The unit's AV C O MPU LIN K setting is controlled using
the OTHERS m enu in the preference display. See page
53 for operation.
• For inform ation on the connection betw een a TV and a
receiver, refer to the receiver's instructions.
To AV C O MPU LIN K (II, E X or III)

• If you connect the unit to a television via AV C O MPU
LIN K, set the unit's AV C O MPU LIN K setting as follo ws.
• W hen connecting to the VIDE O-1 input terminal
of the television: DVD2
• W hen connecting to the VIDE O-2 input terminal
of the television: DVD3
To AV C O MPU LIN K

• If you connect the unit to a television and VCR via AV
C O MPU LIN K, set the VCR's Re m ote Control Code and
the unit's AV C O MPU LIN K setting as follo ws.
• W hen connecting to the VIDE O-1 input terminal
of the television:

VCR's Re m ote Control Code: B
• W hen connecting to the VIDE O-2 input terminal
of the television:

VCR
The JVC C O MPU LIN K syste m allo ws you to enjoy video
and/or audio by sim ply pressing Play on the source
co m ponent (the co m ponent w hich plays back the video
or audio, such as a DVD player or VCR). You don't even
have to switch on po w er on the TV or receiver.
The follo wing actions are perform ed auto m atically:
• Turning on television po w er.
• Setting the source of the television to the external
• Turning on receiver po w er.
• Setting the source of the receiver to the co m ponent
To AV C O MPU LIN K
(II, E X or III)

Receiver
AV C O MPU LIN K, set the unit's AV C O MPU LIN K
setting to DVD1.
IMPORTANT!
• When you make video connection between the unit and
another device (such as a receiver and TV) via the
composite, S-video or component jacks, as well as AV
COMPU LINK connection, see also the instruction
manual of the other device.
Notes for connection
• If you connect the unit to a receiver via AV COMPU LINK
in a system including a Dolby Digital decoder, some
functions may not be performed automatically.
• Connect the AUDIO OUT jacks of the unit to the audio
input jacks of a receiver that indicating "DVD."
Otherwise, the system will not work correctly.
• There may be no description about connections to the
unit in the instruction manual of a television or VCR.
However a television or VCR with AV COMPU LINK
terminals indicating "II," "EX" or "III" can be connected
to the unit.

Operation

Turn on the main power of the television.

Insert a disc (or tape) into the source
component.
3
Press 3 of the source component.
