Online and Offline Modes

Your library can operate in an online or offline mode. Typically, the library is in the online mode.
When you access the Command, Setup, or Tools menus from the Operator Panel, the library will
automatically go into the offline mode. When the library is offline, the SCSI host has limited access
to the library. The host can retrieve information from the library but cannot execute any new
commands that change the state of the library, such as writing data or moving media. Commands
in progress will be completed before the library goes offline. Entering the Main menu automatically
returns the library to the online mode. All status information is available in offline mode.
