Operation
CAUTION
Non-matching memory areas can result in personal
injury or machine damage
Some interfaces (e.g., EnDat) provide the option
of storing machine- or system-specific data in the
customer's memory area. This data may contain safety-
relevant information.
If servicing becomes necessary, you must ensure
that memory areas containing machine- or
equipment-specific information are matched.
5.1
Switch-on / Switch-off
WARNING
Danger of electric shock!
Damaged cables or connections may result in serious
personal injuries or death by electric shock.
Do not operate the device if the power cable or any
connections are damaged
Switch-on
EIB 741 and EIB 749: Set the power switch to position I.
For information on the location of the power switch, see
"Rear panel", Page 24
EIB 742: Connect the power supply unit to power
connection X6 and switch it on
After the product has been switched on, it boots the most
recently stored firmware. This is the firmware version
that was loaded during the most recent update. Since
the network parameters can be changed, the settings
programmed most recently are used after switch-on.
You press the reset button in order to start specialized
loading of the firmware. For more information, see "Reset
modes supported by the product", Page 29.
Switch-off
EIB 741 and EIB 749: Set the power switch to position
0. Then disconnect the power cable
The power switch is protected by all-pole
fusing. To disconnect the unit completely
from power, the power connector must be
disengaged.
EIB 742: Switch off the power supply unit or disconnect
the cable from power connection X6
