Checking blade alignment

Excessive vibrations during mowing and irregular cutting may
be caused by misalignment of blades due to accidental
deformations of the blade bearings and shafts.
1. Put the lawn-tractor into a vertical position (see chap. 2.4).
2. To check the alignment of blades, start by removing one
and, then, reinstall it after removing the key [2] from the
shaft so that the blades can be turned separately.
NOTE:
Take notice of the direction for unscrewing and
screwing the central screw [1] (see 4.8).
3. Place the cutting edges of the two blades close together in
the various possible upper and lower positions (A-A1, B-B1,
A-B1, B-A1). They must be aligned to within 2 mm.
If the values measured are higher, it should be checked that
the blades are not deformed. If this is not the case, the blade
shafts should be checked and replaced if necessary (see 6.11)
and the positioning of the blade shaft journal bearings on the
cutting plate should be checked.
! WARNING :

Always replace damaged blades and do not attempt to
repair or straighten them. Always use original spare
parts!

Once the checks have been made, remember to replace
the shaft spline [2], check that the blades are at 90° to
one another, and...
