The .update file(s) are supplied in an RPM or DEB package, that installs the files beneath
the /lib/firmware directory. This is the conventional Linux location for storing such files:
• The .update files for X3522 adapters are installed in the xilinx/x3 subdirectory.
• The .update filenames include a version number, for example:
x3-bundle-v<a>.<b>.<c>.<d>.update
• A soft link is also created without a version number. This refers to the most recently installed
version of a .update file. For example:
x3-bundle.update

Get the Update Files

To get the .update files:
1. Using a remote host with network connectivity to the x86 host for the X3522, open the
product website (see
2. Download the required package, as identified in the following sections.
Update to Latest Version
To update all partitions of the FPGA to the latest version, download one of the following bundles:
• XN-201078-LS Alveo X3522 Update Bundle [RPM package], recommended for Red Hat, SUSE
or CentOS
• XN-201079-LS Alveo X3522 Update Bundle [Debian package], recommended for Ubuntu or
Debian.
Configure UEFI and Other Settings
To enable or disable UEFI, and to configure other settings, download one of the following
collections of user configuration files:
• XN-201080-LS Alveo X3522 Configuration Files [RPM package], recommended for Red Hat,
SUSE or CentOS
• XN-201081-LS Alveo X3522 Configuration Files [Debian package], recommended for Ubuntu or
Debian.
