• To show driver information for the interface:
ethtool -i <interface>
Root permission is required to configure the adapter.
Configuring Task Offloading
X3522 adapters support receive (RX) checksum offload. To ensure maximum performance from
the adapter, this should be enabled, which is the default setting on the adapter. For more
information, see
To change offload settings for RX, use the ethtool command:
ethtool --offload <interface> [rx on|off]
Configuring Receive Ring Buffer Size
The receive ring buffers on the X3522 adapter contain descriptors each of which references a
packet buffer (see
entries per ring. The user can identify and reconfigure the receive ring buffer size using the
ethtool command.
Note: Transmit on the X3522 does not use a ring buffer, and so you cannot configure the transmit ring
buffer size.
To identify the current ring buffer size (in packet buffers):
ethtool -g <interface>
This also shows the maximum size that can be set.
To set the new receive ring buffer size to value N:
ethtool -G <interface> [rx N]
where N has a minimum value of 1024, and must be a multiple of 512.

UEFI and PXE

The X3522 supports UEFI. It is enabled in the delivered factory configuration.
Note: To change whether UEFI is enabled, you must program new configuration settings into the FPGA
flash. See
