Create Virtual Mail Boxes
Click Start in the Windows taskbar, and click Printers and Faxes to open the
Printers and Faxes window.
In the Printers and Faxes window, right-click the icon for your printing system. A list
appears.
Click Properties in the list. The Properties dialog box appears. Click the Device
Settings tab.
Select the Hard Disk check box. The Hard Disk Settings dialog box appears.
Click New and enter any name into Mailbox Name.
For example, name the mail box after the user or department. The name can be up
to 31 characters in length.
The mail box names appear in the Defined Names list at right.
Enter a number between 1 and 255 for the Virtual Output Tray.
You can enter commas and hyphens to organize multiple mail boxes for the same
user. In the following example, when the numbers 1, 3, 6, 8-12 are entered, mail
boxes 1, 3, 6, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 will be assigned to the name specified in Mailbox
Name. Print jobs are saved in those boxes simultaneously.
To assign multiple mail boxes, repeat the above steps. When finished, click OK to
close the Hard Disk Settings dialog box.
It is also possible to assign mail boxes using the same virtual output trays for users
with different names. However, be aware that this will result in shared mail boxes.
To delete a mail box that you created, select the mail box from the Defined names
list and click Delete.
Import and Export the Virtual Mail Box List
These sections explain how to import and export your virtual mail box lists. You can
save the list of virtual mail boxes created in the previous section onto your personal
computer or network. Once saved, the list can be imported into other printer drivers.
