Virtual Mail Box
With the Virtual mail box feature, mail boxes created on the hard disk are assigned
to multiple users. Jobs posted to a virtual mail box can be printed later from the
printing system's operation panel. Jobs saved in virtual mail boxes are automatically
deleted after printing, and jobs that have not been printed are saved if the printing
system is switched off. You must create and set up your mail boxes prior to using this
feature.
Note: The Virtual mail box feature is available when the printing system is set to
emulate KPDL, PCL 5e, PCL XL, or PCL 5c. For information on emulation settings,
refer to Page Description Language (PDL) on page 2-5.
Create a virtual mail box by specifying a mail box name and number. The figure
below illustrates the virtual mail box option. For further details, refer to
Mail Boxes
on page 8-9.
Use the printer driver to select a
virtual mail box for saving a job.
You can group multiple mail boxes and identify the group with a unique name. You
can save jobs into multiple mail boxes, or save it into all the mail boxes at the same
time.
Up to 255 mail boxes can be created. The total mail box capacity varies depending
on the printing system model and the size of the hard disk installed. For further
details on virtual mail box capacities of each model, refer to the printing system's
Operation Guide.
