Turn off the computer and any devices in the SCSI or
IEEE (FireWire) chain. Check the scanner cable and
power cord are connected correctly and the dip
switches are in the correct position for the interface.
Confirm the DiMAGE Scan Utility plug-in has been
placed in the application's plug-in import folder, see
the DiMAGE Scan Utility manual.
Turn on the scanner and restart the computer.
Eject the film holder and click the OK button. Wait for
the DiMAGE Scan Utility to open before inserting the
film holder.
Confirm the optic locking screw is removed from the
lock position on the bottom panel of the scanner (p. 7).
If the screw is removed and the lamp is still red, con-
tact a Minolta service facility.
Confirm film has been loaded into the holder.
The holder in the scanner and the film type selected in
the main window of the DiMAGE Scan Utility do not
match. Change the holder or film type option.
Increase the memory allocation for the host applica-
tion. If multiple images have been selected for scan-
ning, close and relaunch the application.
The scanner lamp must be replaced. Contact a
Minolta service facility.
With Windows 98 or Me operating systems, scanning
images larger than 950MB can cause long scanning
times. Change the input resolution to reduce the file
size, see the DiMAGE Scan Utility manual. With
Macintosh, scanning time can be reduced by opening
the utility through an image-processing application.
