Quilting

The quilting guide will help to keep the
seam spacing constant.

Smocking

With the stitch length control at "4" and
tension dial at "1", sew straight lines 1 cm
(3/8") apart across the area to be
smocked. Knot the threads along the
edge. Pull the bobbin threads and
distribute the gathers evenly.
Sew pattern stitches between the straight
seams. Pull out the gathering stitches.
Loosen the quilter screw. Slide the
quilter in the opening to the desired
position and tighten the screw.
Sew guiding the quilter over the
previous row of stitching.
