Balancing Needle Thread Tension

Auto-tension

This machine features an "AUTO" tension setting, which covers a
wide range of sewing condition.
Set the thread tension dial at "AUTO" for general sewing, unless
specifically indicated in this manual.
Setting mark
The green signal will
light up when setting
the dial at "AUTO".
For Straight Stitch:
The ideal straight stitch will have threads locked between the two layers of fabric.
For Zigzag Stitch:
In the correct zigzag stitch, the bobbin threads will not show on the top side of fabric
and the top thread will show slighly on the bottom side.

Manual Needle Thread Tension

Manual tension adjustment may be required depending on the sewing materials,
layers of fabric and other sewing condition.
* The needle thread is too tight.

Bobbin thread
The bobbin thread appears on the
upper surface of the fabric.
Loosen the needle thread tension
by moving the dial to a lower
number.
* The needle thread is too loose.
The needle thread appears on the
underside of the fabric.
Tighten the needle thread tension
by moving the dial to higher
number.
