Machine Setting

Corded Buttonholes

* Set the stitch width in accordance
with the thickness of the cord used.

With the buttonhole foot raised, hook the
filler cord on the cord spur at the back of
the buttonhole foot.
Bring the ends toward you under the foot
until they clear the front end.
Hook the filler cord into the forks on the
front of the foot to hold them tight.
Lower the needle into the garment where
the buttonhole will start and lower the
foot.

Depress the foot control gently
and sew the buttonhole.
The buttonhole will be sewn over
the cord.

The sewing procedure is the
same as the automatic
buttonhole.

Remove the fabric from the
machine and cut the sewing
threads.

To cut the opening and to
reset for sewing the next
buttonhole, refer to the
instructions on page 20.
