Making a Table
of SAPscript
Variables
ERPLabel v. 2.0 for SAP R/3 – Installation & Operation Ed. 1
If you are designing several labels it may be useful to pre-define the
variables. Instead of having to define the fields every time, you can
re-use the field names over and over.
This is done by creating an ASCII table, with comma-delimited
records.
Sample database
Part_No,Product_Name,Description,Location,Product_Group
"11-900000-92","ERPLabel","Add on for LabelShop PRO","656A1","SW"
"11-300200-02","LabelShop PRO","Label Design Software","887B2","SW"
"11-400300-02","LabelShop LITE","Label Design Software","888B2","SW"
ERPLabel includes such a table, Products.txt. It can be found
in the Data directory. The file can also be used for the Test Print
tool, as described separately.
Create a text file with the fields and some sample records, as shown
above. Put it in the Data directory.
To use the database in the design mode, go to the menu Data-Open
ASCII database (or press F9). Select the table to be used. Create a
describer file. (Consult the LabelShop manual or the On-line help
for details).
Create the variables automatically by selecting "Yes" in the dia-
logue that appears.
Now you can insert the variables in the label design. The available
variables will appear in a list and can be selected.
