    Do Not Look Into The Lens! Be extremely careful not to look into the projection lens when the projector is turned on. The bright light may harm your eyes. Be especially careful to keep children from looking into the lens.
  • Page 4 Follow the instruc- tions in this manual for lamp replacement carefully. Hot Surfaces Allow the projector to cool at least 45 minutes before replacing a lamp. When you open the lamp housing, be very careful not to touch the hot surfaces inside.
  • Page 5 Openings in the projector case provide ventilation to protect it from overheating. Keep loose papers and other objects well away from the bottom, top and side grills. Do not place the projector on top of or close to a computer or other heat-producing equipment.

    Unpacking the Projector The projector comes with the items shown in Figure 1. Check to make sure all are included. Contact your In Focus dealer immedi- ately if anything is missing. If you are experienced in setting up presentation systems, use the LP 225 Quick Start card that was included in the shipping box.

    Powering up the Projector and Adjusting the Image 1 Remove the lens cap. 2 Plug the power cord into the projector (Figure 8), then plug it into your electrical outlet. A surge-protected power strip is recommended if power surges are common in your area.

    Turning Off the Projector If you want to turn off the projector for a short period of time, press the button on the keypad. This blanks the screen for standby fifteen minutes, but keeps the projector running.

    Computer When you have more than one source (computer or video) con- nected to the projector, select between them by pressing the but- ton for the source you want. Press to display the computer image.

    Using the On-Screen Menus The projector has four on-screen menus that allow you to make image adjustments and change a variety of settings. To open the on-screen menus, press the pad.
  • Page 24 To change a menu setting, move the cursor to the setting you want to change, then use one of the two mouse buttons below the disk to make changes. The status bar at the top of the menu display indicates the source that is currently active.

    Display Menu Functions Brightness Adjusting the brightness changes the intensity of the image. Press the left mouse button to darken the image. • Press the right mouse button to lighten the image. • Contrast The contrast controls the degree of difference between the lightest and darkest parts of the picture.

Follow these steps to replace the projection lamp: 1 Turn off the projector and unplug the power cord. 2 Wait 45 minutes to allow it to cool thoroughly. 3 Using a small, flat-blade screwdriver, remove the screw on the outside of the lamp door (Figure 22).

    After you make sure that the condition that made the fuse blow no longer exists, follow these steps to replace the fuse: 1 Turn off the projector by pressing the “O” side of the power switch. 2 Unplug the power cord.
