14 Troubleshooting

Proceed systematically when searching for the cause of a malfunction. If you are unable to find the fault or to
remedy the malfunction, contact our customer service department.

Before you call us, please follow these steps:
• Make a note of the type, machine number and year of production (see nameplate).
• Keep this operating manual (and any circuit diagrams) to hand.
• Describe the fault to us in detail so that a competent remedy can be found.
Fault
The cutter head does not start
Brake motor no longer brakes
The cutter head does not run
up cleanly
Rubber extension rollers
no longer pull out
Feed unevenly
Material is not drawn in
Material is not fed out
One-sided infeed
Planing marks or unevenness
on the workpiece
Height adjustment indicator
does not work
Variable feed
without function
Impacts in the wood on the
first or last approx. 50 mm
Other operating faults are reported by the position controller.

Possible Cause
Control fuse defective
Main switch defective
Main motor defective
V-belt defective/loose
Feed selector switch "ON"
Emergency stop is locked
Brake released
Protection cover not closed properly
Brake pad is worn
V-belt too loose
Rubber coating worn
Drive chain too loose
Infeed roller is set too high
or spring tension too low
Outfeed roller is set too high
or spring tension too low
Spring pressure uneven
Table glide rollers are
not correctly adjusted
Connecting cable between
encoder and electronics loose
or encoder defective
Thermal overload
Rear pressure beam
not correctly adjusted

Remedy
→ Check power supply
No voltage
→ Replace the fuse
(see wiring diagram)
→ Replace main switch
→ Replace motor
→ Tension/replace the V-belt
→ Turn switch to "OFF" position
→ Unlock emergency stop
→ Switch off brake release switch
→ Close cover correctly
→ Readjust brake
(see section  15.3)
→ Tension the V-belt
(see section  15.3)
→ Readjust / replace
Contact customer service!
→ Tension the chain (see  15.1)
→ Readjust infeed roller
Contact customer service!
→ Readjust outfeed roller
Contact customer service!
→ Readjust spring pressure
Contact customer service!
→ Readjust glide rollers
(see section  11.1)
→ Check connections an
tighten if necessary or
replace the encoder.
→ Check fuse
(see wiring diagram)
→ Readjust the pressure beam
