The following is a list of problems you may encounter when using this appliance and
some suggestions that may help to correct the problem. If you still have problems,
contact your Fisher & Paykel trained and supported service technician.
PROBLEM
Pressing 'POWER'
does not turn
on the dryer
Dryer does
not heat
Pressing
does not start
the drying cycle
Dryer stops
working
mid-cycle
Clothes getting
too hot or
damaged
Dryer is beeping
and displaying
unfamiliar light
patterns and/or
message on the
digital display

TROUBLESHOOTING

POSSIBLE CAUSES
Fault with household
power supply.
Dryer set to 'Air Dry' cycle
(DE4560M model only).
The dryer has progressed
to 'Cooling'.
Dryer door not closed
properly.
Is the dryer displaying a
user warning or fault code?
Lint filter needs to be
emptied.
Dryer is overloaded.
'Delay Start' function is set.
Keylock is ON.
Power failure.
Dryer has been paused.
Dryer door is open.
Cycle selected not
appropriate for the load.
Items removed from dryer
before the end of cycle cool
down had finished.
Dryer has a fault.
WHAT TO DO
Try plugging in and turning on
another electrical device at the
same socket.
Check what cycle the dryer is set to
(refer 'Drying cycles'). Change to
preferred cycle.
Check the progress lights — is the
'Cooling' light illuminated? Refer to
'Progress lights' .
Open and close the door. Check that
the lint filter is correctly in place and
not obstructing the door.
Refer to 'Before you call for service'.
Empty the lint filter and ensure it is
correctly in place.
Remove some items from the dryer.
Refer to page 26 for more
information.
To disable press
Press 'POWER'
desired cycle.
Press
to restart the cycle.
Ensure the door is firmly shut.
Ensure the cycle selected is
appropriate for items in the load.
Refer to 'Drying cycles'.
Removing items before cool down
may damage clothing if it is not
spread out and exposed to air to
cool once removed from the dryer.
Try turning the dryer off and waiting
30 seconds before turning it back on.
Refer to 'Before you call for service'.
