Default the save level is Off, saving all measuring peak data per interval. You can also choose to set a
threshold. Measured peak values below this threshold will not be saved. In general, threshold values in
the range of 0.1 mm/s – 1.0 mm/s are set. With higher values relevant information might be lost. If the
measured velocity values within an interval are below the Save Level, the a, f, u will be discarded as well.
Use the / -keys to set a threshold value. Press OK to confirm your choice.
Data reduction (2/4)
The second option to achieve data reduction is the Save Level option. The effectiveness of the other data
reduction options are independent of the vibration levels measured, but the effectiveness of this option
depends heavily on the levels measured. With this option you define a "threshold" value for the vibration
level amplitude. When the maximum vibration amplitude during a time interval is less than the threshold
value, the data will not be stored in the memory. Only when this maximum vibration amplitude exceeds
the defined threshold value, the data (together with date and time) is stored in the memory.
It is clear that the effectiveness of this option depends on the vibration levels measured in combination
with the threshold value selected. In case of little background vibrations and a relatively high threshold
value, the data-reduction will be considerable. On the other hand, in case of high background vibrations
and a relatively low threshold value, the effectiveness of this option may be nil.

The options of Peak Type: normal, cat 1, cat 2 of cat 3 refer to the building classification in categories as

described in DIN 4150 - part 3 and SBR - part A. This is a VIBRA-sbr and VIBRA
option only.
Please note: before starting a measurement you need to select the relevant category in order
to correctly apply the dominant frequency method FFT/Method I. Then the system measures
and stores the peak values according to the chosen standard and building classification.
