Profound has developed different VIBRA systems to meet the individual requirements of our clients around the world. The VIBRA range comprises the Profound VIBRA, the VIBRA-sbr and the VIBRA + . The different characteristics of the VIBRA, the VIBRA-sbr and the VIBRA + are further outlined in the VIBRA features overview in Appendix I. - Page 6 7 gives a detailed description of activating the data read-out by mobile connection. A data save level of 0.1 has been set for both the KB and the v –measurement, as eff,max specified in the respective governing codes. 3.3.3 Calibration The VIBRA and the VIBRA geophone should preferably be calibrated once a year. The Profound M&S agreement covers a yearly calibration of the system and its geophone. Vibration monitoring with the VIBRA Preparation of the VIBRA Only a few checks have to be made before the VIBRA is ready to be used. Please take into account that the positioning of the system and the measurement settings need to be based on the site conditions (location, lay-out, vibration source, soil investigation results, buildings, damage and nuisance criteria). - Page 12 Use the vial on the geophone to check that it is level. Geophone mounting plate. If you need to place the geophone on a floor with or without a soft top layer, the Profound stainless steel mounting plate can be used in two positions: with the pointed side down (when used on a soft layer) or with the round side down (when there is no soft layer). -

4.2.1 After installation of the VIBRA and the geophone as described in the previous paragraphs, the VIBRA can be switched on by pressing the ON-key once. The Profound logo and the VIBRA type (VIBRA, VIBRA-sbr or VIBRA ) will then appear on the display. -

Optional: USB adapter To lengthen measuring time a special USB adapter can be obtained at Profound, enabling connection of the VIBRA via USB to the mains (220V).Thus you can measure indefinitely until the memory is full. The batteries should not be removed from the VIBRA, as the battery power is needed for the GPRS/internet functions. -
