The system starts to measure and displays at the end of the first interval the real-time measured vibration
levels together with date, time and the decrementer counting the number of seconds down till the end of
the interval.
Please find information about error messages concerning the geophone detection in paragraph 4.1.4 of
this manual.
Depending on the settings of the VIBRA, the value of the vibration level will change as a function of the
vibration registered by the geophone. Each time the value of the vibration level changes, the VIBRA has
determined the (absolute) maximum vibration value during the pre-defined interval time. This value is
automatically compared to the set data save level in order to decide whether the recorded value, including
date and time, has to be stored in memory. More information with regard to the settings of the VIBRA can
be found in paragraph 5.3.
X, Y, Z indicate respectively channel x, y and z. When using a 3D-geophone, channel z is the vertical
component, channel x the horizontal component square on the cable connection and channel y the
horizontal component parallel to the cable connection.
Important:
The measurement data displayed on the screen are updated at the end of each interval. Therefore it will
take at least the interval time before the topical (maximum) value of the vibration amplitude replaces the
initial value of "0.0" on the screen. However, you can still see that the VIBRA is operational, because the
number of seconds is counted down till the end of the interval.
The system also synchronises the interval time. When you set an interval time of 5 minutes, the system
will immediately start after the command Start Measurement, but each interval will be closed 5, 10, 15 etc.
minutes past the hour. In this way the measurement results of several systems - which have been set with
the same interval and time, but with a different measurement start time, can still be compared with each
other.
