Service and maintenance

MAFELL machines are of a low-maintenance design.
The installed ball bearings are lubricated for life. After a longer period of operation, MAFELL recommends that
the machine be handed over to an authorized MAFELL service workshop for inspection.

6.1 Machine maintenance

Remove accumulated dust from the machine at regular intervals. At the same time, clean the ventilation
openings on the motor with a vacuum cleaner.
For all lubrication points, use only our special grease, order no. 049040 (1-kg can).
For gearbox lubrication, use only our special grease, order no. 049065 (400-g can).
Quality and care of saw chain, guide bar and sprocket wheel are just as important as the quality and care of
the machine. Neglecting these essential components can have a detrimental effect on cutting performance,
workpiece surface or other machine components.
Clean tools improve the milling quality. The resin should therefore be removed from the chain fittings used on
the machine at regular intervals.
To remove the resin, soak the chain fitting for 24 hours in kerosene or a commercially available resin-removing
agent.
