Power diode (6)
Constant light - The unit has a power supply.
Diagnostic diode (7)
Constant light - The unit has power but no
communication from any side.
Flashes repeatedly - The unit transmits and receives
applicable DPS and multilink data.
ON

Flashes twice, and then off, repeatedly - The unit
receives multilink data, but has no DPS communication.
ON
OFF
Flashes three times, and then off, repeatedly - The unit
receives DPS data, but has no multilink communication.

Calibration
Before the Volvo Penta IPS Dynamic Positioning System
is used, it is mandatory to do an auto configuration and
slip calibration. Refer to the Calibration booklet.
Auto configuration identifies all components connected
to the EVC system. It must be performed the first time the
system is switched on, or after an update.
NOTICE!
If slip calibration has not been previously per-
formed, an initial calibration is mandatory.

Activate the DPS functions
The DPS functions are activated with the DPS button on
the joystick. They can only be activated when boat speed
is below four knots.
Read the Operator's Manual for more information about
the DPS functions.
