IMPORTANT:
Make sure that the DPS antenna is lashed fast or simi-
larly secured during this stage.
NOTICE!
The cable must be as straight as possible when it is
pulled through. Let somebody receive the cable while it
is pulled through from below.
9.
Secure the cable with cable ties to the DPS tripod
(Fig. 3), or elsewhere to avoid vibrations on the
connector and cable cover. Carefully clamp the cable
and affix a good cable support. Do not let the cable
hang loose.
Fasten the DPS antenna with the tripod
(Fig. 3B-C)
1.
Push the bolt (4) with the washer (5) through the
tripod (D) and the radar arch. Install the washer (6)
and the nut (7) from below. Seal all bushings and
bolts with marine sealant.
IMPORTANT:
To function correctly, install the DPS antenna at a loca-
tion with an unimpeded view of the sky and horizon.
2.
Tighten the union nut on the cable grommet with a 23
mm open-end wrench.
NOTICE!
Do not over-tighten the union nut.
Foldable, removable radar arch, antenna
mast (Fig. 4)
If the DPS antenna is installed on a foldable installation,
make sure that the connection is flexible. Make sure that
there is sufficient cable slack.
NOTICE!
Make sure the DPS antenna functions with the
sufficient flexibility (slack).
Connect the DPS antenna connector
(Fig. 5)
1.
When the cable run is complete, expose the cable
wires. Carefully remove the shrink tubing at the cable
end.
2.
Hold the wire approximately 25 mm (0.98 in.) behind
the terminal pin. Hold the back edge of the connector
with the rubber seal toward you.
NOTICE!
The back of the connector is numbered for six
terminals (six poles). Install the plugs to cover the
holes where no wire is installed (Pin 1 and Pin 3).
3.
Connect the cable wire pins referred to the cable
colors in the table below. Press the terminals through
the rubber seal and into the connector housing until
the stop latch clicks.
4.
When all wires are in place, wedge the stop latches.

stations.
Warning decals (Fig. 7)
IMPORTANT:
The warning decals supplied with the DPS anten-

them near each helm station, docking station
(decal 9) (where no Volvo Penta 7" Display is
located). Place them also on the door to the swim
platform (decal 10).
The decal states that when the DPS is activated, the
propellers might spin and the boat might move to maintain
its selected position. Do not swim from the boat when the
DPS is activated!
