User instructions
To select the maximum output level, the installer must take into account all the UHF and
VHF TV channels that he/she wishes to amplify, including those present in the wideband
input port (47-862 MHz). Then the highest figure from the total UHF and the total VHF
channels is taken for selecting the maximum UHF output level according to the table
below.
Max. No. of channels (UHF/VHF)
Max. UHF output level (dBµV)
Max. VHF output level
* For only one BI/BIII channel
Ex.1
Nº of active programmable single-channels: 3
Nº of UHF channels in the wideband input ports: 4
Nº of BI/BIII channels: 2
Nº of VHF channels in the wideband input: 10
Max. (UHF/VHF) = 12 =>
Ex.2
Nº of active single-channels: 7
Nº of UHF channels in the broadband input: 9
Nº of VHF channels: 1
Nº of VHF channels in the broadband input: 6
Max. (UHF/VHF) = 16 =>
The BI/BIII input is reserved for the amplification of a single UHF TV channel, adjusting the
output level of the said channel so that it is 5 dB below the maximum UHF level. We will
use the wideband input port for the amplification of BI/BIII channels coming from satellite
receivers.
Remark: In order for the output levels of the channels in the wideband input (MATV) to
coincide with those programmed, these must have an input level between
70 ... 75 dBµV for VHF and between 65 ... 70 dBµV for UHF.

5 dB less than the UHF level *
Total UHF channels: 7
Total VHF channels: 12
n the table, we take the next greater figure in the UHF/VHF
row, which is 12. Therefore the maximum output level that
we should choose with the programming unit is 109 dBµV,
which corresponds with the max. UHF output level. The VHF
level is 5 dB less (104 dBµV).
Total UHF channels: 16
Total VHF channels: 7
In the table, we take the next greater figure in the UHF/VHF
row, which is 16. Therefore the maximum output level that
we should choose with the programming unit is 108 dBµV,
which corresponds with the max. UHF output level. The VHF
level is 5 dB less (103 dBµV).
