Installing the HardBoot system
The master device HardBoot plus is intended to switch up to eight power outlets
(IEC-320). The number of power outlets can be enlarged by integrating one (or a
maximum of four) HardBoot CCX slave device(s).
Each HardBoot CCX also provides eight power outlets. The maximum expansion
level of the HardBoot system provides a total of 40 power outlets.
Installing the master device HardBoot plus
1. Connect the Network socket on the front panel of the HardBoot plus with the net-
work into which the Remote Power Switch should be integrated. Use a shielded
twisted pair cable for this purpose.

2. Connect the IEC plug of the supplied power cord to the sockets A and B
(see figure 2) on the back panel. Afterwards, connect the shockproof plug to
grounded power sockets.
Socket A supplies the connections 1 to 4 with power whereas socket B provides
power to the connectios 5 to 8. It is therefore necessary to connect both power
cords to be able to switch all connections.
3. Connect the power packs of the computers and the servers whose power supply is
to be controlled by the HardBoot plus to the sockets 1 to 8. Use an IEC extension
cable for this purpose.

the HardBoot plus.
