Installing an Upgrade/Overdrive Processor

Installing an Upgrade/Overdrive Processor
Contact your authorized reseller for more details.
If you install a processor other than a Pentium Overdrive processor,
ensure that it is a Vcc Standard (STD) processor and NOT a Vcc VRE
processor. Using a Vcc VRE processor may severely damage the
processor.
If you install a 120 MHz processor or greater, add a drop of special
'thermal compound' between the processor and the heat sink when
replacing the processor. Contact your reseller to obtain the thermal
compound. Failing to add the thermal compound could result in damage
to the processor.
1 Disconnect the computer power cords from the power outlets, and
disconnect the PC from any telecommunications network.
2 Remove the computer's cover and lift the power supply from it's
seating as described in "Moving and Replacing the Power Supply", on
page 16.
3 If the heatsink is not directly attached to the processor, unclip and
remove the heatsink.
4 Raise the lever on the socket to unlock the processor and lift out the
processor.
