If the spring cannot be fully released, the spring
must be removed to accurately measure the
spring length.

Measure the total spring length while the spring is not
under tension.

Tighten the spring to the specified measurement by turn-
ing adjusting ring

The spring preload is the difference between the
relaxed spring length and the tensioned spring
length.
Depending on the static sag and/or the riding sag,
it may be necessary to increase or decrease the
spring preload.

Tighten retaining ring

Measure the full spring length while it is under tension
and note down the value.

Loosen retaining ring

Turn adjusting ring
